“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” (Mahatma Gandhi)
“Our greatest ability as humans is not to change the world; but to change ourselves.” (Mahatma Gandhi)
In many places we visited on our Southern India tour, I noticed a deep reverence for the enduring legacy of Mahatma Gandhi. At the city of Madurai’s Gandhi Memorial Museum, I particularly observed how he successfully united the diverse masses of India’s people to non- violently resist British colonial rule in India. Ultimately his humble leadership ideals to promote universal non- violence and self-sufficiency of human action positively impacted India’s road to independence as a country. If our government agencies do not adequately deal with our current concerns about the Corona Virus, how might we similarly use Gandhi’s example as exemplified in the following video to foster togetherness to do it ourselves?

Great, thought provoking post and video, James. The questions are how and what. Government has shown it cannot adequately do what it is intended to or should be doing. I spent 25 years in it and my heart and intentions were service oriented. The focus changed depending upon which party was in “power” or occupied the WH. 😦
We don’t know the answers yet. However, I believe the answers will slowly dawn in the hearts and minds of those who are already aware of the conditions we have all been a part of creating. It will take time to shift from where we are to where we must be for the good of ALL and our planet. There are many Gandhi types walking among us today. We know who they are by their actions, choice of words, and demeanor.
None of this will be without suffering. Indeed it is happening now.
Your trip was timely and what you offer us here is, in part, what is needed to support the necessary and essential process of shifting, evolving and creating a much better life experience for everyone. Namaste.

Carrie: I agree with you that my India trip came at the right time. It seemed almost preordained to help me better understand solutions to the government paralysis we are facing now. Thanks for commenting.

How are you coping now, Bette! I certainly have more time to write with the semi quarantine living conditions now.

We’re in for the duration… Plenty of food and supplies to last and grateful for that. Thankful for social media so we can keep up with family and friends as well. Working on our Taxes (IRS) this week. After that–plenty of time for writing and lots of reading to do. Take good care, my friend! 🙂

I agree an totally love Gandhi’s philosophies. Your trip had to be spiritually nourishing, no doubt! I suspect that there are many hidden aspects about the Corona Virus and who knows what is really going on while the world is being restricted.😨

Gandhi saw life in a globally relevant way. That factor seems to be what’s being hidden from us now. I would love to hear some of your music that expresses this quality.
